Rules and Instructions for Scholarship Submissions
This scholarship is open to high school seniors matriculating into any university, community college, or trade school program during Fall 2022. The ideal recipient will have demonstrated a commitment to community empowerment and ability to articulate strategies for how community improvement can occur.
ESE seeks applicants who intend to study and engage in community service-oriented professions to apply. Through this scholarship initiative, ESE aims to invest in the development and direct support of future leaders. Students engaged in all fields of study are eligible. Applicants whose studies require multidisciplinary approaches to meet objectives and effect change such as those that engage the sports and entertainment professions are strongly encouraged to apply.

The application extends students the option to respond to two brief essay prompts by submitting a written or video response (not to exceed 10 minutes). Responses in either format should reflect the student’s desire to connect people to the tools and resources for the improvement of any aspect of a community.
Students have an option of answering two prompts with:
(A) Two essays (250 word minimum for each essay)
(B) One ten-minute video (not to exceed 11 minutes)
The prompts are the following:
(1) How did your individual community experiences inform your choice to pursue your current field of study?
(2) Tell us about how your intended field of study will support you to realize a specific goal for your community’s empowerment.
